The Bands
We have a full day of wonderful jazz.
The day kicks off at midday with the New Orleans jazz of the EXCELSIOR VINTAGE JAZZ BAND.
Hard on their heels is the unique sound of THE LIMBIC SYSTEM. Jazz fusion described by Chrissie Murray of Jazz UK as "Oregon meets Weather Report via Steps Ahead"
SHINE,hopefully describing the sun on the day!, play the songs of Gershwin, Porter, Duke and others from the 1920's and 30's in the hot club style.
TJ JOHNSON and his band hit the stage at 5pm transcending the boundaries of Jazz, Blues, Country and Gospel music to create their own rich distinctive sound.
DYLAN HOWE, on drums, leads this highly accomplished Quintet. His "..music is based firmly in the classic two-horns-plus-rhythm sound of the golden age of Hard Bop from the mid 1950's to the mid 1960's." Bill Bruford.
